We Never Refused Radiation Treatments

Another misconception is that we had refused radiation treatments for Katie. We never refused radiation treatments or signed anything to that effect. The doctor never even set an appointment for radiation treatments.

We asked for a second opinion because Katie had no active cancer at the time.

After the second opinion the two doctors did not even agree. Dr. Alter saying we needed radiation and Dr. Mullins saying we needed more chemo plus radiation. Two days later, thats right, just two days later, we were called by Dr. Alter's office social worker, Laura Esparza, saying we needed to decide on which doctor we wanted to go with and at that point we asked for a third opinion. It is at this point that Dr. Alter called in CPS.

We never delayed any treatments. The doctors wasted 5 weeks of time making appointments after her last chemo. We were given only 2 days to go with it or else, and Dr. Alter refused to make the referal to another doctor, and called in CPS instead.
