"I found out about this blog from a friend recently and have been watching this situation with great interest. My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed in 1996 at the age of 9 with Hodgkin's Disease and has since relapsed 3 times, with the most recent relapse last January. Unfortunately, I know far more about this disease and treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, and bone marrow transplants than I ever expected. I'm also a First Connection volunteer with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, providing help and support to parents with children who are newly diagnosed with this disease so I understand the fear and uncertainty that comes with the territory. "
Edward comments: "If the doctors' treatments of chemo, radiation, and bone marrow transplants are so effective than why is this child still suffering from the disease after 8 years, having 3 relapses???? The secondary side effects of radiation are likely to just be starting to show up. We will pray for your daughter's complete healing."
